on a sleeping baby

and a smile 

on their face

a tug of the cheek pulling

the lips back

what do you

suppose a baby

dreams of

just weeks old

what patterns of neurons

fire or are being replayed

what shape do they take

can we imagine their path

what do i dream

of their future

when watching their

eyes

certainly no anxieties 

only joy and love

it isn't until i close my lids

that i start to guard

my own anxiety

fears

creeping into being

of my rapidly moving eyes
